Our New Creative Programme launching Autumn 2026
What is Art of Cooperation?
AoC is more than just a programme; it’s a co-produced effort by our 24+ collective members of artists, activists and entrepreneurs and of course you are warmly invited to join too (add link)!
Ideas are developed and shaped through our monthly members programme - Making and Doing peer learning sessions and Members Meals - with members giving time or being contracted to deliver creative work as part of our collective processes.
With a new community hub and café at our centre, we are opening our doors wider than ever before to resource and support more people to bring their ideas to life, help and support the ideas of others too and ultimately be part of making more good things happen in Morecambe.

The programme hangs on 3 core strands...
1. Collective Projects: We’re launching three key project areas building on the work of House of Cooperation that connect creative activity directly with the public:

Food, Environment & Cultural Identity: We’re collectively transforming our community café into a vibrant, living space for art, performance, and ecology.

Young People & Families: We’re expanding our "Studio Kids" programme, developing artist- and child-led creative play resources and events.

Neuro-divergent Inclusivity: We’re creating a handmade "chillout space" and integrating new visual communication systems to ensure our space is welcoming to everyone.
2. Artist Development: We’re here to support creatives in Morecambe at all stages of their journey. From monthly "Member’s Meals" where we democratically shape our programme, to our "Making & Doing" artist support forums, "Art is for Everyone" public workshops, and a micro residencies at local community farms in partnership with Closing Loops / Food Futures, we want to help local creative talent thrive.
3. Storytelling & Narrative: Creativity deserves to be documented. Through our "Press Club" and paid creative commissions (from poetry, photography to film and illustration), we are creating a community-led archive that celebrates our activities and helps us learn, reflect, and grow together.
