So you might have noticed we’re not in Morecambe Arndale anymore, we have a fantastic new home!

Our time in the Arndale became much longer than we expected.  And although it was a good space for us in many ways, it was too cold to use most of the year, in significant need of repair, upgrade and modernization, shut at 6pm and came with a precarious licence arrangement. Whilst very affordable it was also very insecure and made it very difficult to make any long term plans.

As a collective we’re ecstatic to have moved into The Meadow, No.3 Northumberland Street, just across from the all new Bath Hotel (big cheer for supporting loads of local businesses), and a stone's throw the fabulous Morecambe Winter Gardens (is about to get a shiny new extension).  Best of all loads of natural light and plenty of sea views! We’ve been quiet lately due to the move and getting the new place all sorted.  Plastering walls, decorating and sorting through lots of things people have made over the years.

Our new home, our ‘house of cooperation’ as we’ve begun calling it, contains 9 private studios and is already fully occupied.  We’ve prioritised our members that are delivering excellent programmes and activities that will make sure the people of Morecambe have lots to do, learn and get involved in for many years to come.  We have always known we’re better together and have proved time and time again what we can achieve when we put our mind to it, so we’re pretty confident this chapter is going to be an exciting one.

Many of the studio’s will also be offering co-working space and many will be offering a range of clubs, workshops and activities of their own.  So if you’re looking for somewhere to regularly come and paint, draw, make, print, or design your own stuff - there’s loads of possibilities here for you, with even more to come as we get more used to our new surroundings.  So far, we’ve got Art Club, Sewing Club, Zine Club on the cards, and a House Warming Weekender planned alongside Morecambe Art Fair, and the People’s Biennial on the 6th & 7th July.  It’s also our 9th Birthday that weekend so expect some cake!
