Queer By Gum CIC is a grassroots project based in the north of England. They organise and facilitate a wide range of creative workshops, projects and safer spaces where the local LGBTQ+ community in Lancaster and Morecambe can create, connect and organise.
Now with a HQ on the top floor of the Good Things Studios, the QBG art studio offers the LGBTQ+ community creative co-working space three days / week alongside a small grassroots queer library and offering a growing range of clubs and activities, starting off with an art journalling club.
QBG also welcome bookings of the space from LGBTQ+ individuals and organisations for meetings and activities. Please get in touch with any enquiries about the space admin@queerbygum.org.uk
Clubs and co-working in this studio is included in Good Things Studios Subscription packages (2 or 4 sessions / week) but can also be accessed PAYG by the Spaces App. Just type in the joining code: 7YVYQS, create your account, then select Good Things Collective & create your profile.
Vaz has worked tirelessly to create a beautiful workspace in the house, already hosting QBG organising meetings, creative activities such as banner making and embroidery crafting making patches to form a collective quilt at the House Warming Weekender. With a fantastic cosy reading corner, plenty of natural light and a wonderful warm atmosphere we know this is only the beginning of yet another awesome chapter for QBG.

Here at GTC we’re looking forward to collaborating with them again for Vintage by the Sea at the end of August, where we’re plotting another Big Gay Sing Along. This year, we're planning on getting people together in advance and having chance to practice and reserve with 4 choir sessions leading up to the main event. Contact QBG to get involved!
The work that Queer by Gum already deliver across the district is a credit to Vaz, it's founding Director brings people together in a very relaxed and inclusive way over shared interests, music and art. Current clubs include book club, coding club, craft club, Queer by Gum Football Club and the new Art Journalling Club in Morecambe is set to start in a couple of weeks.
They also run a range of gigs and events, mostly based at the Gregson Community Centre in Lancaster - but creating an incredible sharing of talent from the Local LGBTQ+ community. A community that appears to have some of the most incedibly talented musicians and artists we’ve encountered in some time, with insightful lyrics that take could your emotions in any direction but somehow invoke a huge sense of joy and shared pride. Something we could all benefit from more of.
