BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER THROUGH ART Since 2015
The Good Things Collective is focussed on working together as a community, to secure the necessary skills, stuff and space that our community needs to thrive. We, alongside many emerging local enterprises and initiatives, will benefit from core community owned spaces, resources and investment in developing key skills. We are a large membership Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee enabling us to run cooperatively in line with our values and objects for the purposes of wide community benefit.
We inspire, promote and support the incubation and growth of community rooted and led initiatives that share our creative, social and sustainable ethos. The creative energy in the area is one of the biggest signs of hope locally for a better future. It is bringing people together in new ways with a much needed positive focus, but for us as a collective - we are equally concerned with ensuring these are socially engaged and generating meaningful sustainable growth and change in the area.
Good Things Collective is an evolution of The Exchange Creative Community CIC. A community-led, grass roots, people focussed creative enterprise in the heart of Morecambe’s West End. Born of a love for the area and the people in it, we used the arts and creativity to bring people together - boosting wellbeing, learning and enterprise. Now a large membership CIC. We are open for applications to people that are committed to being actively involved in the life and activity of the collective - crucially, supporting our objects. Our approach is not to work for people, but with people - building a community of people that get stuck in and know they can make things happen.
We believe collaboration and collective action to be key components in creating long lasting change in our community.
We have worked hard to build positive and meaningful relationships over the years, firstly with each other, but also with organisations and groups to harness resources, talents and skills to work towards making wider impact.
