The Good Things Studio is a ‘pop-up’ project organised by the Good Things Collective, based in the Arndale Morecambe Bay. The location offers lots of passing visitors with our purpose built window gallery for exhibitions.
The 'pop-up' project is fundamental in The Good Thing's mission to continue supporting and developing Morecambe's creative offer by providing access to affordable workspace, networking & collaboration prospects and increased education & training opportunities.
Shared creative workspace >
A shared creative workspace providing access to equipment and resources. Think hot desking - but for artists.
A great way to meet other creatives, spark new collaborations and projects, test out new ideas or work on old ones.
We have a fantastic array of workshops happening every Thursday usually 1-3pm in the Good Things Studio.
We try to re-purpose as many waste materials as we can, using dead-stock t-shirts in Screen printing, to bookbinding with small pieces of fabric and making jewellery from our scrap store! We can find a new, creative purpose for pretty much anything!
All sessions can be found on our Facebook and a handy list can be found in the pdf below.
Good Things Studio
COMMUNITY - LED
As an organisation we are community-led and in most instances community-run too; providing an inclusive, flexible and collaborative approach to adding more ‘Good Things’ to what our area has to offer. We believe that art and creativity is good for both us and for our communities.
For this to happen we need places and spaces as well as opportunities to both use and develop our existing skills, learn new ones and connect with others.
We have worked together on creating the community studio to make sure these opportunities exist and are available to as many people as possible. The studio pop-up makes having access to creative workspace and equipment more affordable than ever before!
